Elmhurst, Ill. – The Cardinal Stritch University women’s cross country team opened their season in the Elmhurst Earlybird Invite hosted by Elmhurst College on Friday evening. The women finished 10 out of 14 teams.
Leading the way for Stritch was Jocelyn Ritger, who finished the 4K course in 16:09, good for a 19 place finish out of 156 runners. Following for Stritch with a strong performance was Emily Hamilton, who finished at 17:58.
Other finishers for Cardinal Stritch University are Marcie Wiess who finished with a time of 20:49, Sally Fullard with a time of 21:50 and Vanessa Braun with a time of 23:53.
Women’s cross country returns to action next weekend September 11 when they travel to UW-Parkside to compete in the Midwest Classic. The women’s race is scheduled for a 9:30 am start.
