Wolves Fall to Knights, 4-0

Indianapolis, Ind. – The Cardinal Stritch University women’s soccer team were looking to pull an upset in their first game of the Marion Classic against the host school. Stritch could not pull the upset against Marian University as they fell 4-0.
Stritch struggled to get anything going on the offensive end of the field as the Knights held them to only two shots for the entire game. Both of the Wolves shots were on goal.
Marian scored their first goal within two minutes of starting the game. Ashley Flewelling (Indianapolis, Ind.) beat Heather McGlothin (Bloomington, Ind.). The Knights found themselves up 1-0.
Marian University took control of the game in the 83rd minute. The Knights took a 2-0 lead after Lauren Gerbick (Dyer, Ind.) found the back of the net. Three minutes later the Knights extended their lead to 3-0 after Samantha Cook (St. John’s, Ind.) scored her first goal of the season.
The Knights added another goal to the board in the 88th minute of the contest. Gerbick added her second goal of the game putting the Knights up 4-0 over the Wolves.
With the loss the Wolves fall to 1-2 on the season. The Wolves return to action tomorrow when they play Davenport University (Mich.). Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00 am.
