Milwaukee, Wis. – While hosting their first-ever selection show party, the men’s and women’s basketball teams for Cardinal Stritch University joined their fans in learning on Wednesday afternoon who their opponents will be in the upcoming NAIA National Basketball Championships.
The Wolves women’s basketball team will enter this year’s tournament as a No. 4 seed and will open up play on Thursday, March 11. Stritch will play their first round game against the fifth seeded College of Idaho Lady Yotes.
The Lady Yotes enter the game at 21-7 overall, having won the Cascade Collegiate Conference for the first time in school history. Meanwhile, the Wolves will enter tournament play with a 28-2 record, a nation-leading 17-game winning streak, and on the heels of winning their ninth conference tournament championship.
The matchup between the No. 16 Wolves and Lady Yotes will take place in Sioux City, Iowa and will be played at 8:45 p.m. central time.
On the men’s side, the No. 9 Wolves will take on the Hastings College Broncos in their opening round game of the men’s national tournament. The Wolves will face a Broncos team that will be entering play with a 23-9 overall record after finishing third in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Stritch will enter play with a 27-5 record and a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Regular Season Championship.
The eleventh seeded Wolves and unseeded Broncos will face off on Thursday, March 11 at 9:15 p.m. central time. This year’s men’s tournament will be played in Point Lookout, Mo.
