CARDINAL STRITCH UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Cardinal Stritch University Wolves Athletics Department, along with Stritch Alumni Relations and On Campus Sports Marketing, invite the fans of Wolves basketball to join them Wed., Mar. 3at 3:00 p.m. as the NAIA announces this year’s basketball national tournament brackets.

Hosted in the Great Hall on the campus of Stritch, the teams invite its fans to gather and watch as College Fanz Sports Network announces where both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be seeded in this year’s national tournament.

For the Stritch women’s team, this will mark the ninth straight year the team will appear in the national tournament. The Wolves captured the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s (CCAC) automatic bid after claiming the conference tournament title on Saturday with a 71-61 over Calumet College of St. Joseph.

The women's national tournament will run from March 10-16 and will be played in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Wolves advance to the national tournament ranked No. 16 in the national poll and with a 28-2 record. This will mark the program’s 14th overall appearance in the tournament.
The Stritch men suffered a heartbreaking loss in the CCAC conference tournament championship, but being ranked in the top 10 in the country virtually assures them of a spot in the men’s national tournament.

Posting a 27-5 overall record, the Wolves will be making their seventh overall appearance in the national tournament and their first appearance since the 2005-06 season.

The men's tournament will be played in Point Lookout, Mo. on March 10-16.

Wednesday’s event will run from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall. The event is open to all who wish to join in the celebration with admission being free. Food and drinks will be provided.
