Chicago, Ill. – The Cardinal Stritch University women’s soccer team couldn’t find much offense against the Illinois Technical Institute on Wednesday. The Scarlet Hawks outshot the Wolves 21-5 in their 4-0 victory over Stritch.

IIT scored three goals in the first half, the first on a pass from Grace Durbin (Tusla, Okl.) to the corner of the goal, which was put in by Mary McCabe (Albuquerque, NM). Erica Delgado (Chicago, Ill.) took the ball in unassisted from the left and shot high into the right corner of the net for the second goal of the game. The Scarlet Hawks extended their lead to three on a header by McCabe from Delgado.

The Wolves defense picked it up in the second half, allowing only seven shots in comparison with the 14 the Scarlet Hawks took in the first period. The Wolves still couldn’t get anything going on the offensive side. Kay Durbin (Tusla, Okl.) scored the final goal with a low shot on a pass from Heather Bickerton (Blackburn, England).

Stritch goal Keeper, Amy Weaver (Barnoldswick, England), earned ten saves in the match.

The Wolves fall to 1-7 overall, and 0-1 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference with the loss. They return home to face conference foe St. Xavier on Saturday, September 26 at 12:00 p.m. at Uhlein Soccer Park.
